Love this stuff for work bedding and making my own potting mix.
It made a massive amount at once. I prefer the six pack deal. I didn't see that though. Overall love the product.
Good product and no worries about salt which was ideal. My worms took to it without hesitation.
Love the texture and how it is easy to keep it at the correct moisture level. We ordered a pound of the mixed worms and they are gangbuster. We got them in May and just divided them into two separate deep bins. Happy happy! Joy Joy!
In the past, we have used coconut coir from other companies. I did my research ahead of time and felt that we were getting good coir. We used it in worm beds and in our gardening efforts. Even with a good rinse prior to using it in our worm bed, the worms were not reproducing, their numbers went down and salts started forming on the top layer—that’s bad for the worms. We also used it for seed starting for the garden, and we never were able to get any of our seedlings to thrive. After MUCH more research, we settled on the Urban Worm Company. We cautiously ordered a fairly small amount for our own trial. Our seedlings thrived (with added organic fertilizer once they emerged). The next trial was with our worm bed. Almost immediately, we saw an uptick of productivity and reproduction from the worms. So, we ordered quite a bit more coir from the Urban Worm Company to fill a couple new raised beds (we needed somewhere to put all our new seedlings when they got a bit bigger!). We mixed it with compost, worm castings and a few other things, and our garden is thriving!! We definitely recommend the Urban Worm Company for your coconut coir needs!
